Don't leave out your vendors

As the costs for wedding rise --the average wedding in the United States is now over $28,000!--many couples are looking for ways to cut the budget and still get the day that they are wanting. I am all for ways to trim the budget; forgo the favors (Your guests don't need another key chain or match box to take home to an already over-flowing drawer full of favors from past weddings), use a family vehicle and ditch the limo (use this vehicle for your engagement surprise), skip the full bar and serve wine & beer, and many other cost-effective means of creating the perfect day within your budget.

However, there are some ways that you should not be trimming the budget! One of them is mistreating your vendors by not providing a meal for them. Please don't think that you can save a few dollars by leaving out your photographer and videographer from the meal numbers; they need to be included! They have spent the better part of the day with you, capturing the most intimate and beautiful moments of your day, followed you from place to place, taking one photograph after another and not taking any breaks because they didn't want to miss any minute of this special day. When have they had any time to eat?

I agree that cutting the budget is many times needful, but not at the expense of your most trusted vendors. They deserve your graciousness as much as any guest.
