Planning Weddings

The wedding rush is on, judging by the amount of phone calls we are receiving about brides and their families needing help planning their events. So many brides and grooms do fairly well when it comes to choosing their DJ, the venue, the officiant, and the photographer, but when it comes to the overall feel and flow of the day--putting it all together, this is where it gets a little dicey.

Figuring out your priorities and following through is one of the best things you can do to ensure that your day is going to be everything that you want it to be.

How do you want the day to feel, look, go from one portion of the celebration to another? How do you fit in the decorating, the photographs, the cake cutting, the first dance and the toast--when do you do these things? You have to have a budget, a plan and determination to stick to it; get sidetracked, and you will end up going here and there and not obtaining the continuity and harmony that you wanted for your event.

I tell all of my brides, keep the control so that the day goes the way that you want, otherwise, when midnight strikes, the day is over and anything that did not get done, ceases to be important at this point. Decide what you want, and go for it!
