Watch those "freebies!"

With the onslaught of bridal shows, there are usually lots of free services given away as door prizes, prize packages, drawings and enticements.
Many of them are designed to bring the receiver to the business that donated them, and while most are legit and worthwhile, some are not. These are the ones that spoil the whole basket for the rest of us vendors. Too bad!

There is one company is particular that feeds on signing everyone up and promising free honeymoons, trips, gifts, etc. Instead, it is a huge bait and switch and causes much confusion and frustration for the bride and groom.

Please beware of these companies. If it sounds too good to be true, check it out before you sign up. Read the fine print. If you are still uneasy about the terms and conditions or it just doesn't "feel right," walk away. Ask if they have referrals that you can talk to. Word of mouth is still the best form of true advertising. Better to be safe than sorry.

Fortunately, there are some great deals out there and most vendors really do want to promote themselves in an honest way, so sign up and win freely!
