The details really do make a difference.

If you are on a budget, then paying attention to the details of your wedding can make the difference between a plain wedding or a wedding that wows and makes your guests feel comfortable and cared-for. Here are three ways to not only work within your budget, but to get the maximum amount of "wow" from your wedding.

1. It costs no amount of money to make sure that the room flow of your reception makes sense for all. If your reception venue has the room, plan accordingly to have the meal in half of the room and the party in the other half, positioning the dance floor as close to the middle of the room as possible. By doing this, we have always had great response from guests. It cost no money (time, only) to bring in some occasional chairs from your house (or your parent's house) to rim the dance floor, creating a "lounge" vibe on the dance side of your venue. Position the DJ and the bar only steps away and you have the makings for a great reception party.

2. It saves you money when you forgo favors for your guests in exchange for a great meal. Trust me when I say that the wedding meal is very important. This is not a place to cut corners. Work with your chef to customize a meal that reflects your tastes and style. Think outside the box, asking your venue to set up stations instead of a standard buffet line for instance. Have the meats at one station, the pasta at another and the salads at still another. The stations create an interactive environment for your guests, a chance to mix and mingle. Now instead of a boring, everybody-always-does-the-same-type-of-buffet-line, you have created a unique and chic aspect to your wedding.

3. This last idea is the simplest and no-cost idea of all - make sure that you take the time to visit with each guest that attends your wedding. This simple act makes you gracious, loving and caring. This is the greatest gift you can give to your friends and family: yourself.
