Staying on task

One of the quickest ways to alleviate stress when planning a wedding is to divide and conquer and the best way to do this is to devise a plan. Dividing your wedding planning into little manageable chunks makes for a smoother and virtually stress free event. For instance, find a calendar and start to write down what needs to be done by when. if you have a year to plan, that is great! Focus on the big ticket items in the first three months and then zero in on the details going forward. When it comes time for the big day, you are calm and ready for anything that comes your way.

If you find yourself with less than 6 months to plan, don't panic; you can be just as stress free, it will just take a bit more attention to getting things accomplished in a timely manner. Fill up your weekly day planner with tasks that need to be done that week--call the caterer, visit with the photographer, and so on. By doing things in little doses instead of being overwhelmed by the amount of work that you need to accomplish, you will be done in time and have little of that "rushed" feeling that so many couples feel. By being more organized and doing things in a systematic way, you are more inclined to make smart budget choices.
