Bridezillas

I have been home feeling under the weather last week and watched a show called Bridezillas. I have to say that I was a little shocked to see how wedding couples treated each other. I realize that I was watching TV and that I probably can't take to heart some of the actions, but the over-all tone of the couples was disheartening.

I have been very spoiled working with loving couples who respect each other and work together towards creating a very loving celebration. After all, isn't planning a wedding together good practice for planning your lives together? Give and take, compromise, loving surprises and laughter?

I would be mortified to talk to my intended in public the way some of these couples talked to each other. What happened to the respect? I hope that this show is just that--show. As a wedding planner, I would like to think that couples in love treat each other like they would like to be treated and will do so till "death do them part." But then again, by the looks of some of the weddings that I have attended as a guest, maybe this show isn't too far off the mark with some couples. That hurts all of us.
