Fresh vs plastic

One of the things that a wedding planner tries to do is to take the bride and groom's vision of what they see their wedding day as being and turn it into reality. And one of the important aspects of thier vision is the decorating; more specifically--flowers.

I can't honestly think that brides dream of plastic flowers, yet I have had many brides say that they are choosing faux flowers over real. The last time that I went shopping for faux flowers, the prices were not cheap! Oh, you can buy plastic flowers at the dollar store, but for your bouquet? Many seasonal, real flowers are not that expensive and a good florist knows how to make a little go a long way for the same price if not less than using faux.

Now, does faux have a place at a wedding? Sometimes. In fact I have used them myself in certain circumstances at a reception or at an outside ceremony where no one sees them up close and budget was an issue because of the volume of coverage that needed to take place. Done properly they can look very nice but never would I use them in place of real for the bridal party flowers.

Every bride deserves a beautiful bouquet to carry with her up the aisle. Her flowers will be in every picture that she takes, so why would you want them to be fake?
