As we go into a New Year, I am seeing that weddings are not as affected by the economy as one might think. When society seems to focus on bad happenings, people need happy circumstances to lift them out of the doldrums of life. Weddings can do that.
Weddings are still a very social and society-minded event where family and friends share a common interest and everyone puts aside their differences (at least most do) for at least 6 hours to help the happy couple celebrate their nuptials.
It does my heart good to hear of so many romantic stories of how couples found each other, their story together and how they plan to celebrate with loved ones on their wedding day. This is not the day for strife, bad feelings or ill wills. It is a happy day full of love and excitement.
So here is to all happy couples getting married in 2009. May your life be as rich as your love is for each other.
