One of the recent weddings that we helped with was held at the funky and architecturally fun Zart 1312 in downtown Des Moines. From a designer's point of view, the cubbies under the stairs and the low ceilings upstairs can pose a decorating challenge, but get through that and the space is charming, vintage and modern all at the same time.
We had such a fun time working on the decor with Katie and Derrick for their New Year's Eve Wedding. (We posted some of their wedding pictures previously; here)
Their colors of silver, black and white were perfect. They did not want floral centerpieces, but decided to go with a New Year's Eve theme of clocks and the changing of the "time." They collected different size clocks from garage sales, family members and thrift stores. The clocks, combined with silver leaves and candles made for beautiful decor that complimented the venue perfectly.
The tables were named for places they have or want to visit and their guest favors also doubled as escort cards - love the colored party horns!
The bride's mother rounded up her friends and make the numbered napkins, to resemble the numbers on a clock. Zart added the silver chavari chairs as a bonus and a beautiful celebration was in full swing!
