Vendor Spotlight | Geno Photography

Since it's impossible to work with our amazing vendors every weekend, we love when they send us photos and stories of what they've been up to.  These photos from Carrie Geno of Geno Photography are a perfect example.  This beautiful couple look so relaxed and in love on their big day, and we're so glad Carrie shared their story with us!  We especially love the coveted 'leaving the reception under sparklers' photo - we can't think of a better way to send off a gorgeous bride and groom.

"In March, I had the pleasure of capturing Junstin and Stefaney's wedding.  It was a beautiful March day and we were surrounded by such loving and wonderful friends and family of the couple.  It was simply perfect.

"We started our formal session at the church, before the ceremony, with the couple's first look.  I love this moment of the day perhaps more than others.  To see the excitement and emotion on their faces as they get to see each other for the first time on the wedding day is just beautiful.

"After the ceremony, we headed to the Old Capital for some fun bridal party pictures and got some gorgeous shots of Justin and Stefaney.  On our way to the reception, we stopped at their home in Kalona to get a quick picture with their dog.  Behind their house, across a field, the sun was setting and creating a gorgeous glow.  I'm so glad we were able to take a few minutes for some photos with the sunset before it passed."

Real Weddings | Jon & Amy

On June 11th, I captured the amazing beauty that was Jon and Amy's wedding. Their ceremony was at the First Mennonite Church in Iowa City. We started our portrait session with their first look in the sanctuary, a few alter shots, then headed outside to the beautiful little park just across the street.

When the formal session was finished, I took Jon and Amy into one of the Sunday school rooms that had "love" painted on the wall. I love the photos of them on the couch in there. Simply beautiful.

Their reception was held in Wellman at the Parkside Center. I'd never been there before, but it is a wonderful space. Their reception was simple and elegant. Congratulations to Jon and Amy! Thank you for allowing us to share in your beautiful day!
