Wedding Inspirations | Beautiful Wedding Photos
How about some gorgeous wedding photos to get the week started off right?! We hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and can't wait for the Preferred Bridal Show in Burlington this coming Sunday, April 7th! We'll be at the Howard Johnson Hotel from 12-3pm, and Princess Boutique will be doing a fabulous bridal fashion show!

Wedding Photos | Geno Photography
A lovely first look, bright florals, fun paraols, and a few gorgeous silhouette shots - we love these wedding photos courtesy of Geno Photography!

On October 20th, I headed to Dubuque to capture the wedding day of Tim & Jessica. Their ceremony was held at the Bible College there. The church was large and lovely. The stained glass windows filled the sanctuary with beautiful natural light. We began their day with their first look. It was truly an emotional event for both the bride and groom. Many happy tears were shed and many tissues were needed. Beautiful.
We then began our formal indoor session, which included bridal party and family photos. After getting through the bulk of the posed shots, we headed outside the church. Just across the street was a pair of adorable little trollies that made for some fun shots with the bride and groom, as well as the bridal party. Just to the side of the church, there was a gorgeous oak tree that was simply glowing in the afternoon sun.
After their ceremony, we headed down to the warehouse district for some more fun bridal party shots. The girls brought out some fun and colorful parasols for the event. The shots of them in front of the green doors are so bright and beautiful. Then it was off to Eagle Park for their reception.
After dark, we headed back outside for a few more photos with Tim and Jessica. I love the silhouette of them kissing at twilight. Gorgeous. It's so nice to work with couples who are willing to steal away from the reception for 5-10 minutes, while guests are eating or otherwise entertained, to take advantage of the gorgeous evening/twilight lighting for portraits.

Doing the work to make memories
The electricity went out in our house last night. I am not sure what happened, but 8 hours later, we had power. Of course, reading by flashlight can get old when you are used to creature comforts, so sleep came early last night. So did waking up to lights, the TV, the washing machine, etc.
So, since I was up turning everything off and had 6 hours of sleep under my belt, I decided to get to work putting things away from our last two weddings last weekend. It is quite a task, but a pleasant one as well. Everything that has to be unpacked gives me a memory of the weddings that it touched, the people that we helped and the friends that we made.
When the food has been ate, the music fades away and the flowers are long gone, memories and photos are all that you really have left. You want them t
o be great ones. In fact, one of the main goals at your wedding should be the memories that you create with your guests; the love and laughter that you shared with those that are closest to you.
Couples, take lots of pictures - don't let your photographer place a time limit on your wedding. Dance with every guest that you can, laugh with the oldest to the youngest; hug and love everyone that attends and be thankful that you were able to create a memorable and loving environment that attendees will long remember. Now, that is a perfect wedding!
