It used to be that May and June were huge wedding months. Every bride wanted a spring wedding complete with tulips, lilies, and hydrangeas.
With the coming age of speed and flowers getting shipped from all over the world at any time, graduations now being large events themselves, and hotter weather sooner in the year, fall has slowly taken over being the most popular wedding time. Many brides and grooms are opting for the cooler weather, the availability of any flower and the beauty of the fall season in Iowa (we do shine during September and October). Of course, there are the home games of ISU and Iowa to contend with, but for the most part, fall is the new wedding season.
A very popular venue informed me that they are booked for September and October already and fast filling November. This is for 2009! So wedding couples, if you are looking for a fall wedding, get booked now, because pretty soon, you will have to wait until 2010 to get married.
