Weddings Inspirations | Alternative Flowers

I have noticed that there is a resurgence of late on blogs with eco-green weddings and using an alternative to the more lush floral look for Bouquets and Reception Centerpieces.  Brides have told me that they feel that these would be a more ecomonical way to have some "Green" at their wedding.  If you are loving this look because it epitomizes your style for your wedding, then, yes, you should certainly build your wedding decor around these fun, garden ideas.  But if you are considering these types of non-flower looks because you feel they are less expensive than their floral counterparts, then no, you really aren't saving any precious budget dollars.
Many bouquets are priced by the florals and time spent putting it together.  If your florist has to spend time wiring in all of the succulents and grasses for your bouquet, they unfortunately have to pass those costs onto you.  If they, in turn, can create a hand tied bouquet of lush opened roses with a ribbon-tied handle, then the time used to create that type of bouquet is much less which equals a less expensive cost.   Of course, my disclaimer here is that costs vary with the choices made and the florist used!

Do you like these types of non-traditional bouquets?
