Sweet Salvage - Picking Heaven

January 16 | Warehouse Rentals from Phoenix | by Cynthia

While we are enjoying a few days of R and R before the midwest wedding season begins, we thought that we would take the trailer and "pick" our way across the states, looking for treasures for the Warehouse. Gosh, we did NOT bring a big enough trailer!

In my daily checking of my Instagram peeps that I follow, I noticed that Sweet Salvage in Phoenix is holding a huge sale. Pointing the pickup and trailer south, we arrive to one of the most eclectic, exciting, well put together and attended four day showing of awesome treasures that can be found. If you are a "picker", then this is the place to come! So much fun and love wrapped up in curated rustic, mid century, shabby, chippy, upholstered, re-imagined, architectural goodness! We are excited to share a few goodies with you in our warehouse when we return, but for now, here is a sneak peak of the first day's findings [and yes, we are going back today!]
[I apologize for the condition of the pictures - they were taken with an excited IPhone user!]

See those yellow tags?  Someone already beat me to this great deal!
How great is that jar filled with dried Lavender?

Clock faces are my favs and they had a lot of them!

Be still my racing heart!  That white gate is definitely going home with us - in fact there are two of them to turn into something amazing for our brides!

This is the check out line!  You should see the entrance line!

Yes, this arch is going home with us. Think of the possibilities!

This chair about stopped me in my tracks. Gorg!!
See the front of this beauty below. Don't you love it?

I saved the best for last - this Ceremony Arch is coming home with us!  Woop!  We are so excited to share this unique piece with our brides. Imagine standing underneath this beauty reciting your vows of love..........decorated with flowers..........vines..........a hanging chandelier..........oh the possibilities!

Vintage Vacation

We had a great time on vacation "picking" our way through our southern states looking for treasures for our couples' events.  We are headed back to Kansas City today to take in the last day of their vintage market plus load up what we found on Friday.
We will share some pictures later today so stay tuned....

You didn't think I was going to show you everything! We have lots more that we will be sharing in the coming days. Head on over to www.vintageloverentals.com to see our newest finds.

Thursday

Happy Fourth of July weekend!

We are taking some time off for the holiday!  Have a great weekend and remember to never take our freedoms for granted.  We are a truly blesssed country.

Wedding Capital of the South

I think I mentioned that we were taking a few days off before the onslaught of our weddings started. We figured that if we didn't get out of "Dodge," then we weren't going to have any time to rest this year. Sine we have a summer home in Missouri, we thought that was a great place to come and recharge our batteries. It is working!

Just across the southern border is a town called Eureka Springs. Eureka Springs, Arkansas bills itself as the Wedding Capital of the South. It certainly is a charming and quaint town. We are going back to visit it again today, but I certainly wanted to share a few pictures with you.
There are hollows and little back alleys and romantic crumbling brick structures that make you think you are in a town that time forgot. Little chapels and stores that beckon you to come in if for no other reason than curiosity and the adorable store windows.

The 1886 Crescent Hotel and Spa is one of those old-world charming places that you have to visit. Tucked away on a mountain top, with manicured gardens, a spa and a salon and exquisite food, what more could a bride and groom ask for their picturesque wedding?

The 1901 Gavioli Chapel is a beautiful non-demoninational chapel just waiting for couples in love. The Gavioli Organ (circa 1912) is well known for its world-class music and rich history.

Then there is always the Bavarian Inn Lodge and Restaurant.
How cute is this--something right out of "Heidi," the beloved children's movie. "This quaint three story Alpine Villa is set on a cozy four-acre mountain top, one mile from downtown Eureka Springs, Arkansas."
They are close to another chapel called Thorncrown Chapel and are well-known for their seemless transition from the ceremony to the reception.

The Thorncrown Chapel is 48 feet tall with 425 windows and over 6,000 square feet of glass. It was chosen 4th on the American Institute of Architecture's top designs of the 20th century. This place is spectacular. You have to see it to believe it!
