We did it!

Sunday | We have finally moved to our new location! | by Cynthia

Well, it has been many years and even more many trucks, but we finally moved our warehouse and floral workshop to our new place; 6106 SE 14th Street * Des Moines, IA. If anyone ever tells me to move again, I am sure that I will find the nearest straight jacket!  I have never been so tired, so sore and more elated in all my wedding years. Climate controlled - over 20,000 square feet of fun and lots of room to grow - we are very blessed!
We would love to show you around, so please visit the web site for our hours: www.vintageloverentals.com. In the meantime, visit us on Instagram or Facebook to see the newest rentals we are always adding.
Our goal is always to give you a fresh perspective on event rentals, giving you an unparalleled choice for your own unique stamp of individuality.

It has been a long time coming!

Sunday | Vintage Love is moving! | by Cynthia

It has been a long time between posts - too long. I am sorry.  Life gives us twists and turns and throws lots of things our way, but one thing remains constant - we only have 24 hours each day. I am sure that if I had 48 hours a day, I would still be asking for more!

This spring found us traveling in central and southern states picking our way as we drove on some of the most beautiful byways. When we got home, we had to reorganize the warehouse to accommodate all of our goodies that we brought back with us.  Trust me when I say that warehouse organization gets to be a giant Tetris game at times.

Sorry for the blur - these were taken with my phone camera.

Being filled to near capacity did not seem to deter us, because out we went again in February to Missouri to pick and pick until the truck and trailer were completely filled again. Home to fill the warehouse - this time to wonder, "Where does it all go?"

You would think that we would learn our lessons, but we just keep adding and adding great new pieces to the warehouse for you to choose from for fabulous events. Well, I am thrilled to announce that we will be relocating the warehouse later this summer to a much larger space, giving us lots of room to keep adding!  But the fun won't stop there; we are adding retail and a venue into the mix, so if you have always wanted to take home a piece of Vintage Love or have your event in the middle of antiques, chandeliers, quirky pieces of furniture, old books that tell stories from yesteryear and just general want the out-of-the-box experience, we will have the venue for you.

For more information or to visit about having your event in a place that oozes character and personality, contact us at Cynthia@weddingsiniowa.com.  We are now taking appointments for November 2015 and beyond.   And just in case you don't have an event to hold, we will be holding our first ever Preferred Vintage Flea Show/Market in November. Watch for more information to come soon.

Sweet Salvage - Picking Heaven

January 16 | Warehouse Rentals from Phoenix | by Cynthia
_______________________________________________

While we are enjoying a few days of R and R before the midwest wedding season begins, we thought that we would take the trailer and "pick" our way across the states, looking for treasures for the Warehouse. Gosh, we did NOT bring a big enough trailer!

In my daily checking of my Instagram peeps that I follow, I noticed that Sweet Salvage in Phoenix is holding a huge sale. Pointing the pickup and trailer south, we arrive to one of the most eclectic, exciting, well put together and attended four day showing of awesome treasures that can be found. If you are a "picker", then this is the place to come! So much fun and love wrapped up in curated rustic, mid century, shabby, chippy, upholstered, re-imagined, architectural goodness! We are excited to share a few goodies with you in our warehouse when we return, but for now, here is a sneak peak of the first day's findings [and yes, we are going back today!]
[I apologize for the condition of the pictures - they were taken with an excited IPhone user!]

See those yellow tags?  Someone already beat me to this great deal!
How great is that jar filled with dried Lavender?

Clock faces are my favs and they had a lot of them!

Be still my racing heart!  That white gate is definitely going home with us - in fact there are two of them to turn into something amazing for our brides!

This is the check out line!  You should see the entrance line!

Yes, this arch is going home with us. Think of the possibilities!

This chair about stopped me in my tracks. Gorg!!
See the front of this beauty below. Don't you love it?

I want!!

I saved the best for last - this Ceremony Arch is coming home with us!  Woop!  We are so excited to share this unique piece with our brides. Imagine standing underneath this beauty reciting your vows of love..........decorated with flowers..........vines..........a hanging chandelier..........oh the possibilities!

MIA - Yes, we are busy beyond busy!

Gosh, I miss you!  We are beyond busy with each day jam - packed with weddings and events.
We have three more super crazy months and then we get back to some normalcy [ I am not sure I know what that is anymore!].
The warehouse is growing by leaps and bounds now that we have passed over 16,000 square feet.
This is what we see everyday; no wonder we love our job!

Sunday

Sunday Laziest

It is just one of those days. Up early to travel to a Bridal Show in Council Bluffs, buffer emails and phone calls all day, pack up and drive home from the bridal show, order pizza and get ready to watch the Oscars.
All in all, a great day-the kind that you wish would last for another 24 hours.
Oh, and did I mention the best part? Getting a picture like this from a favorite photographer. Yep-a perfect day!

We are thrilled to be wishing congratulation wishes to one of our staff members - Lindsay.  Lindsay is our resident carpenter, packer, keeps our vehicles running in top condition, moves our furniture, keeps us calm and all around great guy!  We don't know what we would do without him, so here's to another year of greatness!

Happy - Happy Birthday, Lindsay Upchurch!

What happens when a professional Photographer snaps up pictures in a vintage Warehouse?  Nothing short of perfection!  We have been busy redoing our warehouse to not only merchandise better for rentals, but also as a funky venue.  We realize that Vintage Love, Rentals and annessi will not appeal to all people looking for a space for their events, but our space is for fun, quirky couples looking for that unique space that speaks to their hearts.

Dreamstate Photography came through the other day [we always love it when they are in the house!] and snapped up some phenomenal pictures that we are sharing with you here.  We were in the middle of a major redo, so David could only get a few pics, but the ones that he did?  We L.O.V.E.!
