DIY Brides are creative!

If you have the time and are so inclined, then here are some great food favors that would be fun to make for your wedding, unless you have 500 people coming! I usually don't endorse wedding favors very often, but these are edible and I don't think too many of them would be left over!
Carmel apples - Great for any fall wedding.

Oreo Truffles - Yum!

Fortune Cookies - These would be fun to give to your guests
with Thank You's written inside.

You will find all of the instructions on http://www.diy.wed-central.com/

Happy Baking!

Bridal trends

Bridal trends come and go much like anything other trend. One year it may be calla lilies and lace gowns, the next year it could be mermaid gowns and a particular color that shows up everywhere. The trend predictors for this year are heavily skirted ballgown dresses and floral accents everywhere, like the cute floral candles above from The Joyful Bride Online.

Maybe a floral-embellished gown isn't your style, but you love the floral look. Try it on your invitations, shoes, bags, jewelry, favors or adding edible flowers to your first course. Just about anything can can be stylized with a floral accent. Let your imagination have fun!
Love these invitations from Masterpiece Studios.

Of course, if you do like the full-skirted ballgown look, the following dresses from St. Pucchi are perfect examples.

Wedding Favors

Usually, I am not a fan of wedding favors. Too expensive, too cheap, too trinkety, too many to fuss with, the list could go on. After all, what can you get for your guests that costs around a dollar? And if you have over 250 guests, this can get very pricey in addition to the food and drinks that you already serving them. Many couples simply don't have this type of budget.
If you do want to give favors, food is always a safe bet, then again, if you are giving them good food and dessert--your cake-- then do your guests really need anything more to eat? Besides, if you are thanking your guests for coming to your wedding, your generosity of the day should be a lasting impression in their minds and hearts, not another key chain to throw in the what-not-drawer when they get home.
Now, having said all of the above, there are some items that would be lovely to give to your guests if your budget allowed it and your guest list was relatively low. Emma's Favors has some adorable things. Check out these fun items---I wouldn't mind having them for myself!

These chair favors are adorable and would double as some of your table decorations.
These black and white favors could really add a lot of decor on your table. Sending your guests a picture in their thank you note to place in the frame that you gave them is a beautiful reminder of their day with you. Now this I like!

These bags would be perfect for your bridesmaids. Fill them with some fun cosmetics or a favorite perfume for a very usable and cherished gift. Love the black and pink combo.

How about your out-of-town guests? After all, they have invested quite a bit of time and expense to be with you. A welcome bag or thank you gift is always a very nice way to show your appreciation. Check out the bag below. Fill it with your favorite bottle of wine, include the wine cork, a cute wine glass candle, don't forget a couple of wine glasses and some chocolate and I don't think anyone would say no to this.

Whatever remembrances you would like to give, please keep them tasteful and in keeping with your overall wedding story. Otherwise, skip the favor and give them an extra hour at the bar--on you!
