It is time for a little Sweet!

Mar 8 | Wedding Dessert | by Cynthia

It is no secret that we love dessert. It doesn't matter if it is cake, tarts, cookies, fruit, chocolate, vanilla modern or vintage and everything in between. If it is sweet, we are all in! These dessert buffets are inspiration for your own sweet fest to share with your guests.

Bridal Show Updates | We Love Decorating!

We can't lie, we love decorating!  If there is an opportunity to create beauty, fun, the unique or the different, we want to be involved in it!
Here are some pictures from a spring Bridal Show that we were involved with. We had a lot of fun designing a Head Table as well as coordinating Cake Table in elegant black and white.

Details can make a huge difference at any event. The addition of a
black feather reinforces the black and whtie theme as well as
adds a whimsical element to the table setting.

Mirrors are often used at a wedding.  We love them massed as a runner!

Vendor Spotlights: Scratch Cupcakery | Dutch Oven Bakery | Heideman Photography | My Photo Impression

We are lucky to have amazing vendors featured on WeddingsinIowa.com.
Here are some of our newest Premier businesses  that have recently joined our "family."  You can use their services with confidence, knowing that they care about your wedding almost as much as you do!

If you are looking for cupcakes, Scratch Cupcakery serves a mean cupcake!  These are perfect little gems of delicious, yummy cake in a variety of flavors and colors to serve to your Guests.  Scratch is located in Des Moines, Cedar Falls and Waterloo.

If you are more of a traditionist and want to serve a beautiful wedding cake, not to mention "work of art," to your guests then Van Hemert's Dutch Oven Bakery in Ames Iowa is worth the trip.  Gorgeous cakes, delicious desserts and pastries and excellent customer service. They also have a bakery in Boone.

If you are looking for a photographer, look no further than one of our very newest WeddingsinIowa.com Premier Photographers, Heideman Photography.  Located in Waukee, this artistic couple loves shooting weddings.  They are always looking for the new and different and are always up to a challenge.

If you are looking for something different to capture a special moment from your event, My Photo Impression is perfect.   This is not a photography company! Choose any photo and My Photo Impression carves the impression of the image into a translucent material, which captures the wonder of the special moment. When unlit, the piece resembles a marble carving. Just turn on the light, and the varying thickness of the impression creates the illusion of the original image.

DIY Projects | I love these.....

What did we do before Pinterest came along?  Hours and hours of web site browsing!  Now we just let others do our work for us and we reap the benefits, so when we came across this DIY project, we instantly fell in love.  Then we asked, how did they do that?

Who would guess that this beautiful cupcake flower topper is a dried pineapple!  Beautiful and edible. We are wondering if you could use food paint to create more colors?

We are thinking that these would be adorable lined up on a dessert buffet.   Of course, your guests would ask, "How did they do that?"
